716 Ministries is a nonprofit organization that works to see neighborhoods transformed. Their TRAIN division offers work readiness programs in soft skills, construction, and customer service, equipping participants with the skills they need to pursue meaningful careers. Participants are given opportunities to learn about Christ through mentorship and their Christian curriculum. Their BUILD and SERVE divisions are social enterprise businesses that serve community organizations and offer employment opportunities to community members.
Our Heart Check funding will support:
- Unfunded and underfunded TRAIN 716 Work Readiness Programs for vulnerable and underserved individuals and communities in WNY. They collaborate with other community partners and organizations like 5 Loaves Farm and PATH to teach soft skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment.
- Expansion of the Gospel by creating small group bible studies as requested by program participants.
From the staff at 716 Ministries:
We launched a new soft skills curriculum aimed at youth to empower them with essential life skills for personal and professional growth. One of our softer-spoken students shared this: “This class helped me build confidence out of my comfort zone.” These students are learning about first impressions, growth mindset, personal planning, and constructive criticism.
